RED 1960S HUTA SILESIAPOLAND ENAMEL DOUBLE BOILER POT

A VINTAGE 1960S RED ENAMEL DOUBLE BOILER POT MADE INPOLAND. RED WITH A BLACK TRIM AND RED HANDLES.
Double boilers pans were made to gently heat sauces, melt chocolate etc. The bottom pot just holds water, its the top pot where you put your chocolate for melting or your milk for boiling. .
Use stacked as a double boiler, or separately. Handles have slots to hang.
MARKINGS: LOGO OF BOILER POT WITH S INSIDE AND MADE IN POLAND UNDERNEATH. It is made by Huta Silesia Enamel, probably sometime after the early 60s. Huta Silesia was a zinc smelter in Świętochłowice in the Lipiny district of Poland, established in 1847, and which operated until 2000.  
What Is Enamelware?
Vitreous enamel was developed in Germany in the mid 19th century. A ground glass called frit is applied to metal then fired at temperatures hot enough to melt glass but not the metal. Minerals added to the frit produce color. The process has been used for advertising signage, medical equipment, kitchen appliances, bathtubs, cookware, dishware, basins, and pans. The term "enamelware" refers to enameled steel or cast iron.
CONDITION: FEW SCRAPES TO THE ENAMEL OF THE BOTTOM POTAND LID RIM. OVERALL IN VERY GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION.
