 almost unmatched in the local catalogue. The Mercy Of Wild Things doesnt try to top it. It just does it all over again, only 

 slightly differently, but differently enough that it counts, with a sense of deep introspection, heartfelt across two discs and 18 

 songs of remarkable consistency and often quite exquisite elegance and beauty, replacing some of the cinematic reach of its 

 predecessor. Once again Coetzees room-stilling voice and impeccable melodic sense and timing is the kind of vehicle lyricists 

 dream of, though he proves equally capable here of unleashing a stirring gospel soul.
