Red Habanero Chilli Pepper Seeds. The Habanero Pepper is a member of the ‘Chinense’ family of Hot Chilis. Typically the plants grow larger than most other hot Chiles such as the Cayenne or Jalapeno pepper.

The red version of the classic habanero can reach an eye-popping 200,000-300,000 Scoville Units, and the dried form has been measured at 445,000. These chiles have a slight lantern shape and grow to about 1 ½" long. They have a fruity flavor similar to other habaneros and are delicious in just about any dish, especially salsas and hot sauces.

Red Habanero ripens to a brilliant red instead of a golden-orange color. The wrinkled fruit measure 1-1/2″ long x 1-1/4″ wide, are thin-walled and set in great numbers on 14 to 18″ plants. Handle the seeds and fruit with extreme care!

Growing Red Habanero Chilli Pepper

• Red Habanero Pepper Seeds should be started indoors 8 weeks prior to transplanting.
• To start seed indoors, sow 2-3 seeds 1⁄4 inches deep, in 1×1 inch cells and provide constant moisture and a soil temperature of 26-29 degrees C.
• Germination takes 1 — 2 weeks.
• After germination thin seedlings to one per cell.
• Once seedlings develop 2-3 true leaves, transplant into larger containers
• At transplanting time, set transplants 18 inches apart in rows 30 inches apart.
