Red industrial wall hanging made from a 60-year-old engineering pattern mould marked "Engine Housing Seal 1-A". One-of-a-kind reclaimed decor with sculptural design.
A bold and structured piece of industrial history, this original engineering pattern mould was used approximately 40 to 60 years ago in the production of mining machinery components.
Finished in its original red factory paint, the surface carries authentic wear, markings, and patina, evidence of its long working life in a functional engineering environment.
The design features a vertical arrangement of two raised circular "seal" forms, creating a strong sense of alignment and balance. A smaller protruding detail adds subtle asymmetry, giving the piece added visual interest without disrupting its clean structure.
Etched into the wood are markings including "AN4" and "Simco Eng Shaft Eng Hous Seal 2023 4", while the bold handwritten "1-A" anchors the piece with its original factory identification.
