Red industrial wall hanging made from a 60-year-old engineering pattern mould marked "Knife Edge SD 2-5 3A". One-of-a-kind reclaimed decor with bold sculptural detail.
A bold and tactile piece of industrial history, this original engineering pattern mould was used approximately 40 - 60 years ago in the production of mining machinery components.
Finished in its original red factory paint, the surface carries authentic wear, scratches, and markings, creating a richly layered patina that reflects its decades of use in a working factory.
The design features a series of raised block forms with protruding cylindrical elements, arranged in a structured grid. This gives the piece a strong mechanical rhythm and a sculptural, almost architectural presence.
Etched along the side is "Simco Eng Knife Edge SDD 2 4", while additional factory markings include "SD 2 5" at the top and "Knife Edge" and "3A" in bold handwritten lettering, preserving its original identity and function.
Crafted from solid wood with metal fittings and mounting points, it retains the rugged authenticity of its industrial origins.
This piece can be mounted on a wall using a sturdy bolt, or styled leaning against a wall for a bold, curated industrial look.
A true one-of-a-kind statement piece, this is authentic industrial décor, rich in form, history, and character.
