This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting by South African Artist, Cherie Roe Dirksen.  

 

Painting Description and Inspiration:

 

"I felt compelled to paint poppies to the music of classical composer Saint-Saens this week.  I haven't done one of my poppy paintings for a while now and was missing their smiling faces and who better to accompany the unfurling of flowers than this musician!
The background came out quite different this time (perhaps the passive, peaceful influence of Saint-Saens?), with running streaks, orbs and writing (a first for me!).  I felt the words wanted to be positive reinforcements, especially with all the bad news the media has been pumping out at us lately.  
So this was my way of bringing out a bit of beauty and wonder for life through art."
