A beautiful Type 3 Bedrock 607 is up for grabs. At some point in its life it had a knock on the right hand side which caused a crack at the base of the mouth and that ran up the rounded side.
The original owner (?), or a subsequent one, did a brilliant job of riveting a steel plate along the outside of the plane to reinforce it. This was not merely a 'cosmetic fix', it was a working fix and was very well executed and, obviously, highly successful.
I acquired this plane at an auction where a family had put up a well stocked tool chest of a long deceased grandfather / great grandfather. The ancestor was a Cabinet Maker and he clearly not only fixed the plane, he also used it regularly.
Looking at the rest of the plane it is in amazing condition - it must have been a highly valued and frequently used tool. In my judgement, it has all its original parts.
