COLLECTION IN THE FOURWAYS JO'BURG AREA

As photographed. Nice tall piece. Beautiful tiles. Have been advised

that it is American Cottonwood. Too hard to be the pine family.

It measures height approximately 195cm, the length is 70cm and the

width 37cm.

I believe the tiles to be Art Nouveau. They have crazing. Please note

in this photo the filled whole on the drawer piece. It appears as if the

previous owner or original owner had something mounted here.

The wood surrounding it has also darkened (as can be seen)

Please again note the filled hole towards the back. My recommendation

is to place a piece of finished pine at the back to cover it and make

it part of this piece. Like a large quarter round (if you know what I

mean)

Reverse side of piece. There is also a hole in the middle piece

which would have been to do with whatever item was on the

top of the shelf piece. I do not know what it could have been that

impelled the person to think it important enough to do. This hole

means nothing as it is at the back and not noticeable when placed

against the wal..

Bottom piece. Please note there was something on top of this piece

and where it was exposed the wood has darkened. Cherry would

darkens with age as well.

Please note on the side. Not noticeable if you just look at piece

but highlighting for accuracy
