A very nice example of a large W Ottway & Co Ltd (Ealing London) Arclight parallel ruler in steel and brass, cased inside a beautiful wooden box . The ruler has the number 56743 stamped into the main body.

The rulers dimensions are approx. 61 cm x 6.3 cm with a weight of 1.9 kg. The box dimensions are approx. 63.5 cm x 8.5 cm with a weight of .9 kg .

It is in very good condition with a little bit of wear and tear being evident. The first owner stencilled his name, Max Holding, twice (with white paint) on the main body cover and he also neatly scratched his name lightly at each end of the ruler. The box has  slight damage evident at the back and on the inside of the lid.

What should make this ruler particularly attractive and valuable for a collector is its provenance. Details in this regard are in the letter, dated 7 February 1958, that is contained in the box see photos for content.

Note to overseas buyers: Price excludes overseas postage. I am prepared to quote for postage costs, and insurance if required, which will be at buyers cost.
