The Artists thoughts

Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. (Pablo Picasso) When I look at nature and realize that God created it all then it inspires me to be creative. I want my painting to evoke a thought, a memory or idea to the viewer. The subject matter of each body of work determines the materials and the forms of my work. I generally work in acrylics and oils. Painting with these mediums often gives vibrancy and definition to the paintings and sometimes textures can be created. 

Art remains as a strong contender of how I share my thoughts and ideas. Painting to me is like recollection or recreating places which left marked influences and impressions on my mind. My work explores the relationship between nature and emotional memories. Often scenes are from my own life experiences. I am not bound by a specific idea but paint what I have the urge to paint. With influences as diverse as Vincent van Gogh and Wassily Kandinsky, new combinations are synthesized in my work from both traditional and modern discourse.

All my Artwork will be mailed from Johannesburg. Collections can be arranged.
