Grattan is one of the most underrated artists in South Africa. His works are quite easily comparable to Gabriel De Jongh without the hefty, often overpriced, price tag. Grattan is definitely worth investing in, especially one in this condition.
 
This is a beautiful piece with exquisite detail of a typical Cape mountain setting. The mountains form a dramatic backdrop with a cottage nestled in a tranquil valley by a small lake. The painting offers a visual and inspirational splendor with vivid colours and attention to detail. Please note the damage to the frame.
