THIS IS A REMINGTON DELUXE PORTABLE MODEL 5 WITH SERIAL NO B1650133 MADE IN 1948. THE SERIAL NUMBER: BEHIND THE TOP ROW OF KEYS AGAINST THE BACK. COULD NOT TAKE A GOOD PHOTO THOUGH.

THIS TYPEWRITER IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. FULLY FUNCTIONAL. WORKS PERFECTLY. LINT IN TACT. CLEAN. COME IN HARD CARRY CASE WITH LOCK IN WORKING CONDITION. PROPABLY THE BEST TYPEWRITER I HAVE HAD. IF YOU WANT A FULLY FUNCTIONAL VINTAGE TYPEWRITER YOU WILL NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS ONE!
INTERESTING FACT: NO NO 1 AND NO NO 0 KEYS? WITH THESE OLDER TYPEWRITERS MANUFACTURERS TRIED TO SAVE SOME SPACE IN AN ALREADY OVERCROWDED TYPEBAR. SO YOU USE A LOWERCASE L FOR 1 AND AN UPPERCASE O FOR 0.

REMINGTON TYPEWRITERS: The first commercially successful typewriter was designed by Christopher Sholes and Carlos Glidden and manufactured by gunmakers E. Remington and Sons in 1874 in Ilion, New York. In 1886 E. Remington and Sons sold the entirety of their typewriter interests to Wyckoff, Seamans & Benedict. Wyckoff, Seamans & Benedict manufactured their typewriters under the Remington Standard Typewriter Company name beginning in 1892. The company became the Remington Typewriter Company in 1902, before merging with the Rand Kardex Company in 1927 to become Remington Rand. Remington Rand continued to sell typewriters until around 1955, when it was acquired by the Sperry Corporation.
