When the Jubilee of the British Settlers were celebrated in Grahamstown in 1870, the Rev Henry Hare Dugmore was chosen to tell the story of the Settlement, and the lecture he gave was later published as The Reminiscences of an Albany Settler. (Dugmore had come as a child with the emigrants of 1820.)
