Renault RE20 - 1980 - Revolutionary turbo F1 car - Exoto 1/18

Finely detailed Exoto model of the trailblazing turbo Renault RE20.

Renault broke the mould of 3-litre normally-aspirated engines in F1 when they introduced the RS01 in 1977 with the first 1.5litre turbocharged F1 motor. This was a revolutionary car and essentially a test mule and initially chronically unreliable.

The 1979 RS10 that followed changed the narrative of F1 as it scored 5 pole positions and won a race (plus 3 podiums) thus announcing the arrival of turbocharged engines in F1 as the future.

This RE20 that arrived in 1980 was swift enough to win 3 races (although still plagued with unreliability) and indicated Renault as serious contender for a World Championship in the following years with Prost.

This model shows off the unusual rear wing structure as well as full engine and chassis details as only Exoto can do! Presented in pretty Renault white, yellow and black livery which sits so comfortable on the car's shape and makes a striking model.

In mint condition and now a desirable piece for any collector interested in F1 history and influential cars. Supplied in its original box - also in perfect condition and protected in a white outer sleeve.
