Here on auction we have a REPRODUCTION item - new build - REPRODUCTION - SA Army Para Bn 1980's experimental Giraffe camo slangvel - XL size
 

This is the fruits of a very long running project launched upon numerous requests from collecotrs across the globe - Project "Jurassic Park" - to revive an extinct "camo item" - this is a FULL REPRO item from the camo cloth to the sewing - all 100% new build and REPRODUCTION.

The press-studs and ripstop canvas and YKK heavy duty zip are all true-to-period items used to re-create this iconic item! Sewn 100% original pattern and as good as it gets - a "giraffe" brought back from extinction!

In the 1980's the SADF tested this "Giraffe" camo (no points for guessing where that name came from!) at the Para Battalion and history records that it was never adopted (and my info points to the fact that all sets bar ONE were burnt under the strict control of a full Colonel B at the time - some period photos of these items being worn do luckily exist (and these were used to re-create the camo iteself and then sew up the items - the first of which is offered here on auction!
