About the Medal
Very Rare - Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) Gallantry Cross, a military decoration awarded for acts ofvalor or heroism in combat.
Key details: Established in 1950 and 1952 by the Vietnamese government.
Awarded to military personnel and civilians.
Features a wreath, crossed scimitars, a Maltese cross, and a central discoutlining Vietnam.
The ribbon is red with a wide central gold stripe and narrow red stripes.
It was commonly awarded to foreign allies who supported South Vietnam.

Important Note: Most of these medals were confiscated and destroyed by the Viet Cong (VC), also known as the National Liberation Front (NLF) upon their victory of the war and withdrawal of US Forces, which adds to it legacy, rarity and collectability
