Offered for sale is a stylish and collectable Nymolle wall plate/cabinet plate by the famous Danish designer Bjorn Wijnblad. This item is from a series of 4 plates depicting the Four Seasons and is called Spring. It is an earthenware item with a transfer/decal printed motif. Wiijnblad worked for Nymolle in the 1960's relatively early in his career and subsequently joined Rosenthal where he developed his worldwide fame and acclaim over a career spanning 40 years. This plate is a lovely example of his bold idiosyncratic design with its quirky playfulness and superb detailing and draughtmanship. Wijnblad has depicted a Danish version of Flora the goddess of Spring with a miniaturized male figure/child in a bower bedecked with roses, flowers and flowering trees. The black and white design is iconically 1960's and Pop art influenced.
