I was ecstatic when I first read this book explaining the way of the warrior. It seemed to cut through the mumbo jumbo of the New Age which can often espouse passivity and a 'flaccid' allowing - which is the negative feminine. Instead, here we are shown a positive masculine approach which is about ultimate self-responsibility and self-reliance, counterbalanced with a gentleness which comes from non-judgmental detachment and compassionate control.
