Revell German Messerschmitt Me 262 Model Kit from 1970s Scale 1:72 Boxed

A VINTAGE BOXED PLANE MODEL KIT BY REVELL OF THE GERMAN MESSERSCHMIDT ME 262. IN ORIGINAL BOX. PIECES ARE LOOSE IN BOX. ALL PIECES APPEAR TO BE THERE FROM THE PILOT AND DECALS.

The Messerschmitt Me 262 or Schwalbe (Swallow), was the world's first operational jet fighter, developed in Germany during World War II and entering service in mid-1944. Powered by Junkers Jumo 004  turbojet engines, it was significantly faster than Allied piston-engine fighters, reaching speeds over 540 mph. Although designed as an interceptor, Hitler initially ordered it to also serve as a bomber, delaying its full impact. Despite its technological superiority, the Me 262 suffered from engine reliability issues, fuel and material shortages, and relatively low production numbers, which prevented it from significantly altering the outcome of the air war.
