Rhipsalis baccifera, commonly known as the mistletoe cactus, is an epiphytic cactus which is found in the tropics of Africa and into Sri Lanka where it is known in Sinhala.
They are cultivated as much for their strange form as for their small but numerous flowers.
The plants usually grow perched upon trees, though some species grow on rocks or in the ground. The branching succulent stems are commonly pendulous or erect with short bristly spines. After flowering, the plants produce small fleshy translucent berries.
