This beautifully made, incredibly good quality, sterling silver Rhodesian sweetheart brooch of the 'British South African Police' (B.S.A.P.) has amazing detail and is set with marcasite stones and a garnet gemstone for the eye of the lion. I have never seen or come across a B.S.A.P. sweetheart brooch like this. There are two very small silver hallmarks on the back which are not very easy to read, but in my opinion, it was either made in Belgium or France around the 1950/60's. Other than one tiny marcasite stone missing, it is in excellent condition and the pin, with safety slide catch, works perfectly. It measures 3.5cm x 2.8cm and weighs 6.8g. All round a very nice, rare piece.
