A RHODESIAN WAR CONTACT II BOOK

This is a superb RARE LARGE hardcover coffee-table-style book published in 1981 titled "CONTACT II: A Pictorial Account of the Rhodesian War". It was written by Paul L. Moorcraft and published by Everton Book Press (Pty.) Ltd. of Johannesburg. "This is the follow-up to the very successful CONTACT, although the new book, CONTACT II, can also stand in its own right as a chronicle of the Rhodesian War. The second volume is not intended to be a blow-by-blow account of the war nor a detailed analysis of each unit in the Security Force. It is instead a pictorial overview of what the war has meant to all in the recently-named Zimbabwe. Together the two volumes constitute the most comprehensive record of the fighting forces of Rhodesia. They are poignant symbols of the country's brave and noble heritage. Yet in certain respects the tone of the sequel differs from its predecessor. This is fitting, for times have changed. Yesterday is literally another country and the yet-uncertain tomorrow beckons to this war-weary land. Yet whatever the future does hold for this beautiful but hurt country, readers can still pick up this book and proudly recall Rhodesia's struggle for peace.". Contains 211 pages LOADED with incredible pictures of soldiers and action in Rhodesia from the 1970's. The foreword was written by Lt.General G.P. Walls, Commander of Combined Operations, in 1980. Chapters include- The Course of the War, Guerrilla Strategy, Defence Against Terrorism, Inside the Fortress, Roll of Honour, and Honours and Awards. Book is almost ALL PICTURES. It is LOADED with great pictures- Ian Smith, Selous Scouts, Rhodesian African Rifles, Rhodesian Light Infantry, Rhodesian Air Force, and much, much more. An absolutely incredible book, and a must-have for any student of Rhodesian military history from the 1970's. The dustjacket shows some slight discolouration along the spine
