Original Rhodesian military cap badge showing the lion-and-tusk emblem beneath St Edwards Crown. Collectable Rhodesian Army Staff Corps insignia.
This item is a Rhodesian Army Staff Corps cap badge, also historically linked to the Rhodesian General Service Corps, used during the 1960s and 1970s. The design features a lion supporting an elephant tusk with its forepaw, surmounted by the St Edwards Crown (Queens Crown).
The badge is a gilt or brass metal beret / service cap badge originating from Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). The lion and tusk emblem has a long heritage, originally linked to the British South Africa Company (BSAC), and later adopted as a broader Rhodesian state symbol.
This example reflects the period when the Royal Crown was still present on military insignia before the later republic era when some items replaced the crown.
