An EXCELLENT example of a Rhodesian Light Infantry, 1970s Warrant Officer Class I Mess Dress Regimental Tunic. This piece appears to be in a VF/F state of preservation, with detailed Embroidered & Applied Insignia Graphic Relief on obverse. All insignia present w/ Lugs and retention pins. Minimal Evidence of handling/ age-related wear is visible on surface. Material is in good order, with a minor degree of variable discoloration (attributed to age/ general handling). Regimental Tunic displays good structural integrity - with all stitching and hem lines appearing intact. Internal liner system is present. Integral Rhodesian Army 'Stay-Brite' Buttons are present on both cuffs. Waist segment retains merrowed slots for securing element. The Anodised Rhodesian Light Infantry Collar Badges remain present w/ all fittings. Applied Embroidered Warrant Officer 1st Class Rank Insignia has been securely mounted. The detachable 'Howard Green' Epaulettes remain in a Good State with all necessary fittings.
This piece would have been utilised by Senior Warrant Officer's of the Rhodesian Light Infantry, as part of their Ceremonial Regimental Mess-Dress Service Attire. Formal Evening proceedings & associated events would sanction this Dress code.
