A stunning crown sized proof gold coin from Rhodesia.
To mark the first anniversary of the declaration of independence by Rhodesia, the Reserve Bank of Rhodesia issued three proof gold coins (Five pounds; One pound and Ten shillings) on the 11th November 1966.
These magnificent proof coins were struck by the South African Mint in 22ct gold, the weight of the five pound coin is 39.94g, or 1.1762 oz AGW.
The reverse of the five pound features the coat of arms of Rhodesia, the obverse shows Her Majesty Elizabeth II. Note: Actual coin and presentation box may differ slightly to the picture posted.
