A rare opportunity to purchase the complete set of 24 volumes of the second series of the Rhodesiana Reprint Library, known as the "Silver Series". The 24 volumes are the standard editions with cloth boards and many with decorative gilt on upper covers, titled gilt on spines. All volumes have pictorial dustjackets.
Overall condition: Good to Very Good. The original boards with a dustjacket show signs of being shelf rubbed, and edge worn. Tanning/Browning of pages on some books but other books are clean without any markings or browning. Some of the book-blocks appear dusty but this hasnt spread to the book pages. The binding of all the books is excellent. Books are all covered with cellophane covers.
With the second series, the publisher Books of Rhodesia specialized in the reprinting of writings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries that had been created under the influence of colonial rule. This happened at a time when the country was in a period of political transition (19701979).
