Raphanus Sativus

Rhubarb is a plant that is widely grown for its edible stalks, which are used in pies, jams, and other desserts. The plant is native to Asia but has been cultivated in Europe and North America for centuries.

Rhubarb plants are large, with long, thick stalks and large green leaves. The stalks can be harvested in the spring and early summer, usually from April to June, depending on the climate. The stalks should be picked by pulling them out of the ground with a gentle twisting motion, and the leaves should be removed before the stalks are used.

Relatively easy to grow and require well-drained soil and plenty of sunlight. They are also relatively cold-hardy and can tolerate temperatures as low as -3C. However, the leaves of the plant are toxic and should not be eaten, as they contain high levels of oxalic acid.
