GEOLOGICAL:

Rhyolite consists of mostly Quartz and Feldspar (varieties Sanidine & Plagioclase), and often with Biotite (black Mica varieties). Generally glassy (like Obsidian) or fine grained, it can also have larger crystals in a rock matrix. Rhyolite formed from volcanic magma rich in silica.
