Richard Mudariki, hailing from Zimbabwe, embarked on his artistic journey under the mentorship of esteemed painters Helen Lieros and Greg Shaw at Gallery Delta in Harare. Relocating to South Africa, Mudariki now calls Cape Town his home. He has held solo exhibitions and has been featured in curated exhibitions across prestigious venues in Johannesburg, Cape Town, London, Paris, and New York.

In 2017, Mudariki's work was celebrated in a mid-career retrospective titled "Mutara Wenguva (Time Line)" organized by SANLAM Bank, showcased in both Johannesburg and Cape Town, accompanied by a comprehensive publication detailing his oeuvre. The following year marked a significant milestone when Mudariki joined Barnard's roster of artists. His artwork, particularly the notable piece "Economy of Scale," was showcased at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair and subsequently acquired by the IZIKO South African National Gallery. This achievement was closely followed by a prestigious residency at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) and inclusion in Sothebys, London sale of Modern and Contemporary African Art.

Mudariki's first solo exhibition at Barnard, "Maoneru Angu (My Reality II)," received widespread acclaim, leading to further presentations of his work, notably at AKAA: Also Known as Africa in Paris and within significant exhibitions such as "Centennial: A Century of Art from the Sanlam Art Collection 1918 2018" and "Five Bhobh: Painting at the End of an Era" at Zeitz MOCAA.

In 2019, Barnard published "Ndini Here (Is this me?)," a limited edition hardcover book showcasing Mudariki's work, launched in New York during his debut solo show in North America at the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in Manhattan. His work captured the interest of MOMA curators and was acquired by the West Collection in Philadelphia. Future projects include his participation in EXPO Chicago and his inaugural solo exhibition in Paris with Galerie Polaris.

Mudariki's work is represented in prestigious collections such as the IZIKO South African National Gallery, SANLAM, Zeitz MOCAA, the Leridon Collection in Paris, and the West Collection in Philadelphia, USA, underscoring his significant impact on the contemporary art scene.
