RISCO ShockTec Digital Shock Detector Grade 2

The RISCO ShockTec RK600S Digital Shock Detector is a wired Grade 2 perimeter detector designed to identify vibration caused by forced-entry attempts on protected windows, doors, walls and roofs. Its piezo-electric sensing element and digital signal processing analyse shock patterns so the alarm system can respond while an intrusion attempt is still taking place at the perimeter. Adjustable sensitivity and a tri-colour calibration LED make it suitable for professional residential and commercial alarm installations.

Key Features

• Detects forced-entry attempts at the perimeter. Responds to vibration associated with actions such as forcing, smashing, drilling or sawing a protected surface, allowing the alarm system to react before entry is completed.
• Digital processing helps reduce unwanted alarms. The microprocessor analyses vibration signals and applies noise reduction to distinguish relevant shock events from normal environmental vibration.
• Piezo-electric vibration sensing. An encapsulated piezo-electric sensor detects mechanical shock transmitted through the protected surface rather than relying on an acoustic glass-break microphone.
• Easy sensitivity calibration. A dual-stage sensitivity adjustment and tri-colour LED help the installer identify over-sensitive, correctly calibrated and under-sensitive settings.
• Built-in tamper supervision. A normally closed tamper output allows the alarm panel to monitor interference with the detector enclosure.
• Supports multi-detector latching. Any-to-latch and first-to-latch modes can assist installers in identifying which detector activated when several ShockTec units are used on a monitored circuit.
• Straightforward wired integration. Operates from 9 to 16 V DC and provides normally closed alarm and tamper relay outputs for connection to a compatible hardwired alarm panel.

Did You Know?

• The RK600S is not an acoustic glass-break detector. It detects vibration travelling through the surface to which it is installed, so it can protect more than just glass and is suitable for applications such as doors, walls and other rigid surfaces.
• This RK600S version does not include a magnetic door/window contact. RISCO's RK601SM ShockTec Plus is the version that combines shock detection with a magnetic contact.
• First-to-latch mode can help identify which detector on a multi-sensor loop activated first. RISCO specifies support for up to 10 detectors on a first-to-latch loop, or up to 80 units in an any-to-latch arrangement.

Compatibility & App Support

The RK600S is a wired alarm detector requiring a compatible control panel with a 9 to 16 V DC auxiliary supply and normally closed alarm and tamper zone connections. It has no built-in Wi-Fi, RF communication or direct mobile-app connection. Where it is connected to an alarm system that supports remote monitoring, notifications and app control are provided by the control panel and its communication equipment rather than by the detector itself.
