Rise of the Guardians Nintendo DS

Rise of the Guardians for the Nintendo DS is an action-adventure, beat-'em-up game based on the animated film of the same name. Players join forces with classic childhood legends to battle the evil spirit Pitch Black and his army of nightmares. 

Gameplay

• Character Selection: Players can assume the roles of any of the five Guardians: Jack Frost, North (Santa Claus), Bunnymund (Easter Bunny), Tooth (Tooth Fairy), and Sandy (Sandman).
• Combat: The game focuses on action combat where each character has unique weapons and special abilities, such as Jack's ice magic or North's swords. The game involves repeatedly fighting swarms of shadow-like enemies.
• Upgrades and Abilities: Characters have upgradable skills and powers that increase their strength as they gain experience from battles. New abilities and weapon upgrades can be unlocked throughout the game.
• Exploration: The adventure takes place across various legendary realms inspired by the film, including the North Pole, Tooth's Palace, Bunnymund's Warren, and Sandy's Ship.
• Single-player: The DS version is primarily a single-player experience. Unlike the console versions, which feature up to four-player cooperative play, the DS and 3DS versions are limited in this aspect.
• Structure: Levels are often described as maze-like, requiring navigation skills and the completion of objectives, such as rescuing captured friends. The game is a 3D beat-'em-up, though the 3D effect is only on the 3DS version. 

Story

The story largely follows the premise of the film: the Guardians discover that Pitch Black has returned and is threatening to engulf the world in darkness and fear by destroying children's belief in them. The Man in the Moon chooses Jack Frost to join the team. The Guardians must travel to their different realms to thwart Pitch's plans, collect children's teeth to restore memories, and ultimately restore belief to children around the world to defeat Pitch.
