RIVAROSSI Le 424/R FS ClassE.424.001 Electric Locomotive

A rare and highly collectible vintage Rivarossi HO scale model of the legendary Italian State Railways FS E.424.001 electric locomotive.

This model represents the E.424.001, the very first locomotive ofthe E.424 class and one of the three original prototype locomotives built by Bredain 19431944.

The Rivarossi Model

Rivarossi introduced its HO scale E.424 model in 1952, making this model part of the company's historic early production of Italian railway models.

The early Le 424/R was a two-rail DC version and was produced in Rivarossi's early "Red Series" range. The model featured the characteristic early Rivarossi construction and represents the E.424.001prototype.

The early examples are particularly interesting to collectors because of their vintage construction, classic Rivarossi motor technology and distinctive early detailing.

A Genuine Collector's Item

This is much more than an ordinary model locomotive. It represents both:

Italian railway history AND the early history of Rivarossi itself.

Rivarossi produced E.424 models from 1952 through 1981, with several generations and variations appearing over the years. The earliest E.424.001 versions are of particular interest to collectors of vintage Rivarossi models.
