Rock Climbing Introduction

Rock climbing, broadly speaking, is the act of ascending steep rock formations. Normally, climbers use gear and safety equipment specifically designed for the purpose. Strength, endurance, and mental control are required to cope with tough, dangerous physical challenges, and knowledge of climbing techniques and the use of essential pieces of gear and equipment are crucial. Although rock climbing is an outdoor activity, many cities are home to indoor rock climbing gyms which can be formatted to match the physical (but not necessarily mental or technical) skill level needed for outdoor climbing.

Climbing instruction begins with basic rope work, knots, climbing equipment, safety, belaying and climbing techniques. The course involves top rope climbing, the perfect way to get to grips with the rock. We concentrate on discovering your natural ability to climb. By the end of the session you should be confident enough to tackle routes in a climbing gym or belay a partner with competence.

Join us for a half day session trying your hand at this amazing skill. Learn the ‘ropes' from the best and face any fears that you may have where trying something new is concerned. After this half day session you will feel such a great sense of achievement for accomplishing something new and so great. Who knows you may very well move onto being a pro!?
