Rocking ink blotter covered in embossed leather. Old vintage.

A vintage, rather old - probably 1930's or earlier - rocking ink blotter covered in embossed leather. Hard to tell where it comes from, European, perhaps British.

The leather thong which would have been sewn in along the top is gone, the holes remaining.

A very charming desk ornament from the good old days when such items were handmade by artisans and bought by wealthy bankers to impress lesser mortals while signing important documents.

The wear and age marks add to the character and charm of this item.

A rare find - I googled and came up with very few of this kind.
