As far as I can see the lighter actually does not belong in the box. The lighter has no model name on it and appears different from the insruction pamphlet for the Whirlwind Chromium Butler which is the label on the box.
Inside the box is a small envelope which contains a little copper handled brush, an advertising pamphlet " Whatever the occasion give a Ronson" with illustrations of some lighters, Ronson "Firbronze" flints, "Ronsonol" and a "Literkit". Another little pamphlet is "How to Assure Long Life for your Ronson". A sheet for the Ronson "Whirlwind" and registered label to send the lighter in to the Ronson Service Department.
The lighter itself has been used and there is some scratching and abrasions. The action is still firm and I expect it would work when filled. On the front is engraved "Gazes" and the Gaze company emblem and three interlocking squares. The Gaze company, W.H.Gaze & Sons was responsible for the renovation of Hampton Court Palace in the mid 1900's. I am not sure of the age of the lighter and have not been able to trace a picture of a similar model but I suspect it to be 1940-1950 vintage.
