Rossini is a much underrated opera composer. i would recommend this opera to anyone, as it is sheer joy from beginning to end. Rossini's music has charm, wit and most of all comedy. Only Cecilia Bartoli could sing this well, and although i haven't yet heard any alternative recording s of this opera I have little doubt that this surpasses them all. Enzo Dar, also is a magnificent buffoon...the CD is worth buying alone for his final Act 1 Aria!! Breathtaking! - Amazon user review
