An unusual Royal Albert tea trio in a pattern called “Festival”. This is one of Royal Albert’s earlier patterns and is unusual because it is neither decorated with flowers nor gilded. Instead all three pieces feature various types of grasses and feathers in autumnal colours. In addition, the cup’s interior is coloured a light turquoise while all the edges are decorated not with gold but silver ‘gilding’. The cup is in the Smooth shape. This pleasing trio likely dates from the 1950s or 1960s.
All three pieces are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The gilding is intact everywhere. There is only a tiny bit of fine grazing on part of the back of the saucer, and a small spot which appears unglazed on the back of the cake plate. But these naturally do not affect the display value of this trio.
Dimensions: The cup measures about 8.6 cm across (excluding the handle) and is 7.2 cm high. The diameter of the saucer is about 14 cm and its height 2 cm. The cake plate is about 16 cm across.
