A Royal Albert tea trio from the “Friendship Series”. Each of these twelve trios has a pattern decorated with flowers – this one is “Primrose”. The cup, saucer and cake plate each features several sprigs of dainty yellow primroses against a white background. The scalloped edges are all gilded. The cup is in the Countess shape. This series was only produced from the 1950s to the 1970s and is now quite rare to find an example from it.

All three pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The gilding is intact everywhere except for a bit of loss on the cup’s rim. The colours are bright and cheerful. An oddity is that the saucer, which certainly does belong to this set, has a different back stamp from the cup and plate.

Dimensions: The cup measures about 8.4 cm across (excluding the handle) and is 7 cm high. The diameter of the saucer is about 14 cm and that of the cake plate 16 cm.
