A Royal Albert large cake plate or server in the stunning "Lady Carlyle" pattern. It is decorated with a big central posy of various flowers and four cartouches containing pink roses, blue-bells and forget-me-nots, interspersed with a deep pink border. The edge is scalloped, while the handles feature a particularly lovely raised and gilded pattern (see close-up photo). The back stamp dates the manufacturing of this trio to the period 1950s-1970s when it was manufactured in England, unlike later examples which were made in Asia. I also have on offer a matching milk jug.
Condition: The plate is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or grazing that I can detect. The gilding is perfect and the colours are bright. I suspect it has rarely if ever been used.
Dimensions: The plate measures about 26.5 cm from handle to handle and 23 cm from top to bottom.
Postage: R60 insured parcel post with tracking number with SAPO, or else R100 with Postnet branch-to-branch. While I undertake to package the item very carefully, I cannot be held responsible for damage in transit. Please discuss any possible combinations with me before completing the check-out process on BoB.
Please study the photos below carefully as they form part of the description and feel free to ask any questions. I retain the right to delete bids from new buyers or buyers with negative feedback. Payment is expected within three days after closure or else the item will be re-listed and a SNC filed.
