THE OLD ENGLISH ROSE PATTERN LIKE MANY OF ROYAL ALBERTS DESIGNS, WAS INSPIRED BY THE ENGLISH COUNTRY GARDEN AND MORE SPECIFICALLY, ROSES. THE PATTERN WAS DESIGNED BY HAROLD HOLDCROFT IN 1962
