Royal Doulton - Bunnykins bowl

On offer this vintage Royal Doulton, Bunnykins plate, signed by Barbara Vernon. The bowl has a diameter of 16cm and is 4cm deep. In lovely condition, no chips or cracks but with a few very minor surface scratches on the picture. In 1934, Sister Mary Barbara Vernon who was the daughter of the factory manager, drew the first Bunnykins character and everyone who saw the sketch was charmed by it and so the Bunnykins range was launched. The Bunnykins Collection still continues today and has a huge following. The early pieces designed by Barbara Vernon are the most valuable and are somewhat difficult to come by. Sister Mary Barbara Vernon ceased drawing when her teaching became too demanding and her designs were withdrawn by 1952. Signed pieces always command a premium. A lovely vintage item that is very rare and collectible and will add value to any collection.
