This large Royal Doulton bowl has the back stamp, introduced in 1932, underneath. This mark, without the addition of Bone China, was in use until the early 1970’s. I’m not familiar with this pattern, but it is reminiscent of a style of decoration popular in the period between the wars, and again in the late 1940’s. The English village and chapel in the foreground appears to be transfer printed; with some hand painting to the autumnal foliage. It measures 26cm in diameter, with a depth of 8 inches. It is free of cracks, chips or restoration. Please add R48 for postage.
