Description
Royal Doulton character jug The Walrus and the Carpenter, model number D6600, designed by David Biggs. Issued in 1964, this ceramic jug is inspired by the whimsical poem from Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass. The jug features the Walrus with his signature bowler hat and scarf, while the handle is sculpted as the Carpenter, a penguin-like figure carrying a bag. The back of the jug includes the inscription "Carpenter & Walrus", reinforcing the literary reference. The base bears the Royal Doulton backstamp. A must have for collectors of Alice in Wonderland-themed character jugs.
