Royal Doulton 'Mr. Pickwick' Dickens Ware Dish (C. 1950's)
This lovely Dickens ware dish, which was designed by Charles Noke, is rectangular in shape (known as the 'slice tray' - shape 7979) and features 'Mr. Pickwick', a character from the novel, 'The Pickwick Papers', by Charles Dickens. Mr. Pickwick was known as the immortal, ever young, intensely stubborn, yet with a romantic heart, good-natured gentleman. The dish has 'Nokes' signature on the front and the Royal Doulton back-stamp and pattern number D6327 on the back. Other than some minor crazing, it is in excellent condition and measures 23cm x 18cm.
