Royal Doulton 'Mr. Squeers' Dickens Ware Bowl (C.1930's)

This lovely, Dickens ware bowl, designed by Charles Noke, is a shape not often seen, known as the 'clover leaf tray' (shape 8097). It features 'Mr. Squeers', a Dickens character that you also don't see very often. He was the illiterate schoolmaster in the novel 'Nicholas Nickleby' by Charles Dickens. The bowl has 'Nokes' signature on the front and the Royal Doulton back stamp and the pattern number 'D5175' on the back. It is in excellent condition and measures 23.7cm x17.8cm.
