Royal Doulton "Night Watchman" Collector Jug D3190 CA. 1909
This is a wonderful old Royal Doulton juge from the Night Watchman series. The Night Watchman wanders through the street with his lamp and bayonet. He is wearing a Royal blue coat and a large hat. You can almost hear him sing at the top of the hour as he walks the cobblestoned streets. The old buildings in the background add to the old quaint scenery. The plate is edge with a dark green color. There are a couple of small gaps in the edge, but they are shiny with glaze so this occurred during production. There is a repaired hairline as you can see on the photo. Hard to notify.The jug is marked on the back: Royal Doulton England D 3190 and the Royal Doulton mark (1902 - 1922) It is believed this jug is ca. 1909.
