ROYAL DOULTON TINY VERY RARE ** ARRY** 3.5CM THESE ARE EXTREMELY COLLECTABLE TO COMPLETE YOUR SETS.

Royal Doulton Character Jug, Arry (brown hat and coat; red and yellow scarf). Designed by Harry Fenton. Series: Tinies, issued 1947 - 1960. Size: 1.5"H (tiny)

Arriet's husband 'Arry is also a costermonger, plying his trade in London. He is a variation of the Pearly Boy character jug. The original design featured the word "Blimey" across the back, but it was never produced.

In 1940, Royal Doulton decided to produce six tiny character jugs which measured approximately 1 1/4" in height. After World War II, they decided to continue with this collection and introduced six more. These jugs have coined the term 'The Original Twelve Tinies' and are highly collectible due to to their short production time. The tinies required expert decorating skills, and the artists had to balance the tiny jugs on the end of their little fingers.

They were designed by three of the best known Royal Doulton Designers: Leslie Harradine, Harry Fenton and Charles Noke.
