On offer is a vintage Royal Holland Pewter beer tankard, manufactured by the KMD factory in Tiel, Holland. The underside of the tankard is marked "Royal Holland Pewter, KMD, Tiel", and bears the marking of a crown. The tankard has some scratches and some puckering from age. Royal Holland Pewter is some of the finest pewter on the market, old or new. Some surface scratching from use and polish, but still near mint. A beautiful piece of vintage pewter, and would be a pride in any collection.

HISTORY: Pewter is a prized alloy manufactured from tin, with a small amount of copper and antimony added to give it strength. Considered the world's fourth most precious metal after platinum, gold and silver, its ability to withstand time and its shiny brilliance gives it great value, particularly so when shaped into plates, goblets, figurines, etc. Unlike silver, pewter does not require polishing or any other special care. It does not rust, tarnish or deteriorate in any way over time. It is very hard to find very, very old American pewter. Much of it was melted and reformed into musket balls to be used during the American Revolutionary War.
