COLLECTABLE!! Royal Mint: 1986 Commonwealth Games Brilliant Uncirculated 2 Pound Coin in nickel-brass, measuring 28.4mm and weighing 15.98g. The Commonwealth games 2 Pound coin has a limited mintage of about 3000 and commemorates the XIII Commonwealth games held in Edinburgh between 24 July and 2 August 1986. It is the first commemorative coin in the UK where the theme is a sporting event. The reverse design by Norman Sillman features a Scottish Thistle superimposed on St Andrew's Cross, which is also a symbol of Scotland. Uncharacteristically for British coins, the date is on the reverse, while the value and denomination are on the obverse. Offers WELCOME.
