Description: This is a 1970 UK Annual Proof "Last Sterling" Coin Set, the First Modern Royal Mint Proof set.
This coin set contains the last coins minted in Britain before the changeover to decimal currency in 1971.
None of these coins were ever struck for circulation - this was only way to acquire the 1970 issues.
All coins are dated 1970 and the set is comprised of the following coins:
1 x Half Crown
1 x Two Shillings
1 x Scottish Shilling
1 x English Shilling
1 x Six Pence
1 x Brass Three Pence
1 x Copper Penny
1 x Copper Half Penny
There is also a copper token of no face value at the top of the set with a crown and the date 1970 on it.
All Coins: Obverse: The obverse shows the first portrait of Elizabeth II facing right, designed by Mary Gillick.
Reverse: According to Coin denomination with either Scotland or England Coat of arms etc.
Condition: All coins are uncirculated and mounted in a protective sealed casing. The casing has scratch marks.
